Casimir Pulaski
"I came here, where freedom
is being defended..."
Born into a wealthy family in Poland in 1747, Pulaski,
fought for freedom from Russia in his homeland until 1771. In Paris
he met Benjamin Franklin and agreed to help Americans fight for their
independence. From 1777 until his death at age 32, Pulaski fought in
the American Revolutionary War for the independence of the U.S.
