A Last Word
from the Locker Room
Throughout my career; I have tried to teach life rather than football.
I believe everyone has the potential to be a champion. As you enter
a new phase of your existence, treat it as if it were a game. It should
be enjoyed not feared, fun not work, played not endured, a reward rather
than a punishment. There will be times when everything goes smoothly.
There will be other moments when you feel as if you are climbing straight
up Mount Everest while wearing combat boots. Whatever happens, don't
deviate from your game plan.:
1. Maintain a positive attitude
2. Welcome adversity as a learning experience.
3. Act boldly; go for the big play when
you're behind.
4. Review your fundamentals; eliminate
any shortcuts.
5. Think WIN!
6. Adapt to change.
7. Give your best effort at all times.
8. Willingly make the sacrifices that
winning demands.
9. Consider both sides of your three
questions.
10. Remind yourself that the difference
between champ and chump is U.
And remember the words of Oliver Wendell
Holmes: "What lies behind you, and what lies ahead of you is of
very little importance when it is compared to what lies within you."
If love trust and commitment lie within you, yours will be a happier,
more productive life. No matter what obstacles confront you, you will
will find a way to win. Every day.
